Rahul Bose



Rahul Bose, Founder

Since his active participation in social interventions in 2002, Bose has been working with underprivileged Muslim women as part of the Akshara Centre for Women as he has on the issue of secularism. He is on the board of Citizens for Justice and Peace, a Global Ambassador for the American India Foundation and a World Youth Ambassador for the World Youth Peace Movement. Post the tsunami of 2004, Bose has made fourteen trips to the Andamans as part of immediate relief and subsequent rehabilitation of the beleaguered region. Bose facilitated, along with Akshara Centre and the Solidarity Network, the supply of vehicles, mobile phones and temporary relief materials for the villagers. He contributed to a permanent housing design initiative by coordinating with the urban development ministry and a team of Bombay architects, Shimul Zaveri and Associates. Bose regularly writes about social issues and has published articles in leading newspapers in the country. His articles may be viewed on www.intentblog.com. He has lectured both in India and abroad, on the issues of gender equality and communal harmony.


 


First members of the Foundation
Shalini Sachdev and Gauri Bhure initiated the work of The Foundation and gave it a shape and form. Gina Crasto and Prachi Mittal had been carrying forward this baton and continued the commitment of eliminating discrimination. They widened the horizon of The Foundation by initiating the launch of the second program, HEAL.

 

Suchismita Bose, Project Head
Has completed her MA in Clinical Psychology from Delhi University. She is pursuing her doctorate in Clinical Hypnosis from California Hypnosis Institute of India. Besides that she has already proved her worth as a counsellor in the Delhi Psychiatry Centre in Delhi and the Masina Hospital in Mumbai. Having been taught by few of the best people in business, Suchismita gives a personal touch to her work.
 


Volunteers
Karishma Tanwani looks after the office administration and has lent a helpful hand to The Foundation during its different events and programs.

Himadri Mishra and Anushka Nunes have been mentoring our six children from the Andaman and Nicobar islands under the program ANSI over the last two years.

Besides them various volunteers comprising of college students, professionals, homemakers and many others have stepped forward and aided us in our attempt to fulfil our mission.
